Chinese elm is one of the trees that can be kept indoors as a bonsai. They like being placed in a light area of a room, avoid dark areas. The lush foliage has a mid-green colour in Spring, dark green in Summer and turns red just before it falls in Autumn. If they are outside then they prefer the sun with partial shade.
